In the midst of America's current culinary golden age, there have been several emerging trends. Whether it's in a food hall or even in fine dining, one of these new passions is sharing.
"Shareables" bring us together. They make dining a more social and enjoyable experience. These ideals are expressed in the recent rise of communal ethnic cuisines like Middle Eastern foods, Korean cuisine, and the popularity of Pilipino foods, and they're also expressed in tabletop trends that provide the ability to share.
Hall China's trays are a great example, as they focus on appetizers that can be shared by the entire table and are in demand for dishes ranging from entrées and salads to desserts and coffee service. They're available in the ever-popular true white glaze, but there is also a new, award-winning option, as well.
Introducing the FER Magazine 2018 Tabletop Award-Winning Hammered Copper Trays from Hall China.
Hammered Copper is inspired by the handcrafted, hammered metalware of days past. It reflects light off the trays' textured surfaces, but it's also easy-to-clean, cost-effective, and comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. As a result, it was awarded the 2018 Tabletop Award from Foodservice Equipment Reports.
Hammered Copper Trays will be featured in the October edition. A group of five judges, made up of smallwares and tabletop specialists from three major equipment and supplies dealerships and two foodservice operators, served top honors to five smallwares entries from a field of 17 finalists, and seven tabletop entries from a field of 47 finalists.
